The Department of Education has postponed the Central Luzon Regional Athletics Association (CLRAA) meet schedule on February 22 to 29 in Iba, Zambales for precautionary measure and prevention of the dreaded 2019-nCov or Coronavirus which has infected 3 in the country as of this date.
In a memorandum signed by Sec Leonora Briones dated February 4, it stated that upon advice of DOH, all national and regional activities involving learners and/or teachers requiring travel and congregation of various schools, divisions, and/or regions are suspended. The Department shall periodically evaluate the necessity of suspending such national and regional activities, and shall, every Monday and/or when the need arises, announce whether such suspension shall continue, depending on the development of the situation and upon the advice of DOH.
This was confirmed by a memorandum from DepEd Angeles city issued today (February 6, 2020)
It said that no less than Zambales Governor Hermogenes Ebdane announced the postponement of the said event in a meeting with the Regional Athletics Association held last February 5.
No date has been marked yet as to when CLRAA will be held.
