Olongapo issue guidelines amid COVID-19 rising count in the country

The local government of Olongapo headed by Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. has issued a guideline in view of the Code Red Sub Level 1 issued by the Department of Health.

Amongst those that will be implement according to guideline are mandatory thermal scan on all person going in government offices, cancelation of regular flag raising ceremony and holding of non essential mass gathering are discourage.

The guideline also includes mandatory disinfection protocols for all business establishments.  

To date 33 persons have tested positive for COVID-19, 3 of this are from Central Luzon.

Mayor Paulino also said in a statement in social media that the city is now constructing an “COVID-19 isolation room” in front of James L Gordon Hospital.

“Proper hygiene is still the best to fight the disease, wash your hands frequently and or sanitize it,” Paulino said.  

He also clarified that he had no standing order to make wearing of face mask mandatory.

“I had no orders like that, what I ordered is, it is mandatory for all health workers, but if anyone feels more safe or comfortable using facemask it is ok,” he added.
