The first PUI recorded in the city has tested negative for the dreaded COVID-19 virus a statement from the local task force said Saturday.
In a statement the local task force said “the Olongapo COVID-19 Task Force headed by Olongapo City Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. and City Health Officer Dr. Rodrick Bustamante would like to inform the public that the patient who was classified as Person Under Investigation (PUI) has tested negative for COVID-19 according to the results from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) which came back this morning.”
The patient was also released from the hospital on Saturday afternoon.
The task force also urge the public to be vigilant and observe proper hygiene.
Olongapo City Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. also advice the public that information regarding COVID-19 in the city should only come from the task force to avoid fake news and panic amongst residents.
