ZAMBALES, Philippines — Quiksilver Surf Academy (QSA) finds its home at the renowned Crystal Beach Resort in San Narciso town here.
Facing the West Philippine Sea, its surf grounds offer various types of waves depending on the season. The swells can range from small to overhead, with some occasional overhead during peak surfing season.
With a kilometer-stretch of beach breaks, the waves can vary from left- or right-handers with occasional A-frames and glassy swells.
QSA is led by Coach Virgel Ramos, a certified Academy of Surfing Instructors (ASI) Level 2 instructor.
The surf camp caters to various surf lesson levels — Level 1 Beginner, Level 2 Advance Beginner, and Level 3 Intermediate Surfing. It also offers customized surfing programs that match the progressive learning skills of each student.
To ensure the safety of all students during water activities, all QSA instructors are trained and certified by the Zambales Lifesaving Inc., which is accredited by the Philippine Coast Guard. Also, they have surfing accreditations with ASI and ISA (Level 1).
At QSA, there is no need to buy a new board yet when you are new to surfing. The school has available foam boards for beginners, hard boards for advance lessons, and rentals.
